Carly is a proud Vancouver Islander! She used to call the prairies home, growing up in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. While there, she graduated from the University of Calgary earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Haskayne School of Business, as well as a Bachelor of Arts - Economics Degree. In both of these areas, she specialized in Strategic Management, Operations and Marketing. Carly is the co-owner and CEO of Island Ready-Mix Ltd located in Campbell River, BC. She is a lifelong learner and completed her real estate certification in 2021 from the Sauder School of Business at UBC, and broker's under Sutton West Coast Realty. Her experience and learning continues as she engages in ongoing professional development both in concrete and real estate.

Throughout both her education and career, Carly has established herself as a business leader and community activist in a variety of roles including time spent in Human Resources, Staff Development, Accounting, College Instruction, Non-Profit Communications and Event Planning, and numerous roles in Branding, Marketing and Management. These experiences have provided her with the skills and knowledge she currently uses in growing her own local Ready-Mix and Mining business and assisting her Real Estate clients in buying and selling their properties.

Giving back to the community that has given her so much is very important to Carly. She is the current Vice President of the Young Professionals of Campbell River (YPCR) where she sits on the Membership Committee, the current Chair of Community Futures Strathcona where she leads the Board Recruitment Committee, a current Director for the Campbell River Community Foundation (CRCF) where she sits on the Marketing & Communications Committee, Endowment Fund Development Committee and Donor Recognition Task Force, and a current Director for Concrete BC where she sits on the Advocacy & Lobbying Committee.

She has also sat on the Volunteer Campbell River Board of Directors and the Ducks Unlimited Board of Directors where she sat on the Events Committee. As a business owner, it is also a privilege for her to sponsor and donate to a variety of causes including the Campbell River Hospital Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, the Campbell River Cricket Club, local Barrel Racing Events, and many local athletes in various sports including hockey and race car driving.

At the heart of it all, Carly’s greatest adventure and largest passion is her family. She is grateful to have three children who love the community as much as she does and a supportive husband to share the journey with.
