Community Involvement

gradline

Giving back to our community is important to us! Whether it's through donations or time, we pride ourselves on integrating for the purposes of enhancing our community. Our community of Campbell River has given so much to us, so we feel it momentous to do so as long as we are involved! We sit on a variety of boards in our community and are happy to attend events to show our support! Scroll below to see our involvement!

We were grateful to be present for the largest cheque presentation in Campbell River Community Foundation history! Carly is proud to serve on the Board of Directors for the Foundation.

The donation was to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation and reflects the annual investment return from a large donation to the Community Foundation's endowment fund. This means the donation will repeat annually and help the Hospital Foundation achieve their goals.

Had an inspiring weekend at the annual strategic planning session for Community Futures Strathcona, a not for profit organization where Carly serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors.

We spent two days with facilitator, author, and Olympic gold medalist Adam Kreek, setting up long term and short term goals for the organization.

Did you know? Community Futures Strathcona invests in small businesses on the North Island by providing funding to those who are unable to access traditional funding sources such as banks or credit unions.

The organization has disbursed $45 Million to over 965 small businesses in the Comox Valley and Strathcona Regional Districts. These investments have benefited the local economy by fostering the creation and or maintenance of 3,700 jobs together with improving diversity among the small business community through our support of start-ups.

Time to get to work! 💪

We were ecstatic to attend a Camryn's Cause fundraising event called 'Haunted Hollywood!' Guests were asked to dress up as old Hollywood icons. Of course we had to go with the Godfather motif. All profit made from the event goes towards families who struggle financially and who have a child facing a health crisis. A wonderful event, but even greater cause!

We were so happy to be a part of the 100 Women Who Care in Campbell River, and pleased with the donations that went to two incredible organizations right here in town! Congrats to Cameryn's Cause and the John Howard Society in each receiving a $3,500 donation! This money will go along way in helping to serve our community!

We are proud members and contributors to the Campbell River Italian Cultural Society! They hold an annual picnic where many of the nonos and nonas gather to prepare a delicious meal with pasta, sausage and a secret sauce! Each year money raised from the event is donated to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation for much needed equipment for our local hospital!

On June 26th, The Loop Day and Buskers Day Event here in Campbell River had many organizations volunteering and working together. There was much to see, including live music, juggling, magic and more! Loop Day is about having our community explore our forests, rivers, and green space, to ensure it stays healthy and vibrant for years to come!

We were selling tickets for the Campbell River Community Foundation throughout the day. We towed along our daughter, Espri, and she was happily entertained with a puppy!

We were so happy to attend this year's Triple 'B' Event put on by Volunteer Campbell River! This organization does a lot for our community, particularly when it comes to volunteerism! There was a great turn out this year, which had many of us enjoying a night out to live bingo music, burgers, and plenty of beer, hence the Triple 'B' name!

We had an amazing time attending this year's YPCR fundraiser! The money raised through the dinner and dance went to the Foundry in Campbell River, which assists young adults and teens with mental health and wellness.

We are proud and happy to support a program that innovates in education and gives back to the community through conservation acts! We partnered up with Island Ready Mix to provide the group with hoodies that will keep them warm throughout the fishing months. We wish you all the best and tight lines!

Visit their Facebook or Instagram to see all the fly fishing and learning they have done!

Thrilled to be out enjoying the sun at the Rogers Hometown Hockey event in town today! Carly was volunteering for one of the professional boards she sits on called the Campbell River Community Foundation!
This organization connects donors, non-profits, and charities to help create a vibrant, livable, and healthy community. To date, they have distributed over $500,000 in grants to support art, culture, education, youth, health, and our environment!
Shout out to all of those who helped to plan and organize this event. Our kids sure appreciated it, especially meeting former Canucks' goalie, Kirk McLean, who signed autographs, and watching Pez the comedian, who claimed to have the 19th most "Canadian Act on Earth"! 🇨🇦
